The characters from the addictive strategic puzzle video game- Angry Birds -with their fun colours, expressive eyes and interesting rounded shapes were of course on my must make list.
On the whole, the Angry Birds and pigs were very straight forward to make, with no special 3D Quilling techniques used. Most of the effort went into the planning and molding of the shapes, and making sure the colour proportions of the red and yellow bird were correct. The backs of the pigs were molded then flattened so they wouldn't roll sideways when set into the scene.
Getting the blue bird to sit snuggly in the the sling-shot took a little fiddling. In the end I glued the sling to the bird, and moved the sling to to get the balance.
All the birds and pigs are around 2.5-3cm (1-1.2in) tall, and only 3mm strips used. The sling-shot and logs were made with varying lengths cut to what I needed.
Ok, fess up- how addicted are you to playing this game?
