This cute Japanese icon and hero, Doraemon, is the earless robotic cat from the future- and perfect for 3D Quilling.
Doraemon was very staright forward to make. He is made using simple tight coils and then cones for his arms, nose and bell. The only real hiccup I had was at first making his head too small for this body- an easy fix. Proportions are something I'm still getting the hang of.
I used the same technique for his feet as I did when making Tinky fairy's shoes. One side of the tight coil is pushed up to give the impression of toes underneath.
Doraemon is made from 3mm strips and stands at 5cm (2in) tall.
